Walk to the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket (or purse, ladies) and when in range, your security system is disarmed, the doors unlock, and the ignition system becomes active. The range of StarDrive's RFID is approximately 8 feet (depending on the antenna location).
Slide behind the wheel, depress the brake pedal, and press the start / stop button to engage the motor.
Shutting off the engine is just as hassle-free. Come to a complete stop, depress the brake pedal, push the start / stop button, and the motor stops.
After stopping the engine, the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) keeps accessories like your radio and power windows active until the door is opened or after an elapsed time of 5 minutes.

Radio Frequency Identification, or RFID, is the new generation of intelligent bidirectional technology and auto electronic alarm systems. It's a dual-frequency wireless system, combined with code hopping and 64-bit encryption technology to avoid the electronic key from being duplicated and ensure security. StarDrive features include:

StarDrive is Invisible to Thieves!
With StarDrive, your ignition cannot be picked since it has no keyholes or slots that anything can be inserted. From the outside, the system has only a button with a status light.

ACC light is on when the unit is in accessory only mode.
ON light is on when the ignition is on.
LOCK light shows the status of the alarm / security.
START / STOP ENGINE are illuminated when the unit is active. This is helpful in locating the button at night. |

What is the difference between StarDrive and StarDrive Lite?
StarDrive has RFID Security. StarDrive Lite has no security. For use in show cars and / or if you have an existing alarm you wish to keep.
What if my car has a locking column? Can I use StarDrive?
There is no easy bypass for a car that has a mechanical steering wheel lock, and it will need to be defeated if you want to have the keyless experience. Do so at your own risk!
The electronic style steering wheel lock can be modified to work with the system.
How do I remove the column lock?
Discuss your options with technicians that perform Steering Column Repair.
Will StarDrive work with an auto-start alarm?
It is not recommended due to known conflicts. The Break input and Starter output need to be defeated in auto-start mode.
Will StarDrive work if I have a after-market alarm in the car already?
You have two choices. 1) Remove your alarm and replace with Star Drive RFID security, 2) Keep your alarm and use the StarDrive lite.
Is it possible to have one set of key FOBs work with multiple cars?
Yes. You can program up to four (4) FOBs to one car and use the same FOB for as many cars as you like.

Will StarDrive work on my vehicle?
The simple answer is yes it will work. You will need the right technician / shop to do the installation. On late model cars there are immobilizers, can-bus, and complex integrated security systems.
Do your home work, verify what you want, and discuss your options with a qualified technician.
Can I use a different push button with StarDrive?
Yes, use any N/O push button. Two ways to do it, 1) Send us the push button and we will build and test. 2) We send you a StarDrive with a button harness and pin out and you can connect your push button yourself.
What is the difference between the Altima and the GTR?
Only the look, both systems operate the same.
What if my car has shaved door handles?
Shaved door handles need to use the trunk release channel to pop the door solenoid. This keeps the door from opening every time you're in range. Alternatively, you could use a second system to operate the door(s).
Can I install StarDrive myself?
Professional installation is recommended. You must have electrical knowledge and an understanding of ignition system sequences, high current needs, and auto alarms. |
